Hi all

So many familar names, good to see veryone has a new home. Lets hope it stays a nice and friendly home :D

But I do hear an empty echo reverberating around the rooms of a few other forums around the place....... I wonder when things will start to sink in?

G'day Target good to see you've logged in - I don't think it will take long for the penny to drop

Hi Joe

I think the online members dropping from 80 to 5 in two days might give some of the sponsors a bit to think about.

I hope that this site gets its members more from word of mouth and invites rather than the hardcore antagonists finding their way in.

Fishing is a peaceful pastime, and I think that fishing forums should eb the same.

By the way, did love KA's little post regarding how welcome you are over on the dark side - I think he alienated most of the people there with those few words.

Hi George

Ding!!!!

The pennie has dropped. Well by the looks of the members on here, it looks like the penny has dropped for the real fishos and those with things to contribute. Sad to say, but all that is left elsewhere will be the antagonists, chest beaters, and school kids trying to look tough.

That'll be the challenge. Keeping the genuine fishos and keeping out the trash.

Iain, the challenge is in the education of the "trash". Everyone has the potential to contribute.

Well said bluecod, it is how you contribute and more sow how you learn from others contributions (not just fishing tips)

Maybe that wasn't too well worded.

As a mod for the last few years I can vouch that there was a small minority (mostly kids I think) who joined with the specific intent of being a nuisance. We've seen all of them.

They tend to migrate as new sites open up and they will come here.

Ian

Watch out though, school holidays are starting very soon, there is always an influx of new troublemakers in the holidays - strange that isnt it? I think some people get a great ego boost out of beating their chest from behind a keyboard. Lets hope that sense prevails and people come here who are genuine about sharing their experiences, learning from others, and dont have hidden agendas or the need to put others down to make themselves look good.

After all, we only share our ideas here, we should never claim that our opinions are RIGHT or the only way to do things.
