George, i have to agree with Flatrock...a big king 20kg would not run into the pylons...he would run straight out

Gotta disagree guys - Harbour kings love structure. the big ones especially.

i would agree with imnotafish, kings once hooked head for the any type of structure that they can find dont think i have ever hooked one that has run in to open water

Boat fishing for Kings is fundamentally different to LB .Not all of my large Kings LB have come in ....but that said, if you fish off a pier or wharf you have to expect the majority to go straight to the poles. There are tricks that you can use to change that initail lunge......sometimes they work:nopity: :nopity: :nopity:

Either way i guess ya got the hookup...Shatters ya losing big fish but guess it helps ya make a better game plan next time...20kg kings off ya local jetty...???Ya gotta love it either way....:hellyeah:

mrus8504 try and cacth your bait there, like yellotail and squid, maybe some slimey mackeral at times, fillet them and use them as your bait, it will help you if you use the bait in the general area that you are fishing. You can also use the yellow tail live for bigger fish.

One of the most effective baits at C G is soft fresh white bread.Try it on a 4-6lb line without a sinker for Bream ,Trevally ,and Mullet:Cloudy:
