New spot

G'day all ,

Dad and i have been fishing at Penrith for a while now and are enjoying it. But we would love a new spot to fish. So any advice on areas around Penrith or Windsor in that range would be grately appreciated.

Your best bet would be to go for a drive to SYdney Harbour and fish one of the parks of wharves on the harbour, many fish to be caught in the harbour. There are no that many species to be caught around the Penrith area i would think.

spoke to one of my good mates who was wakeboarding on friday on the nepean not to sure but up river from windsor. now this bloke has done his fair share of game fishing and says a father and son were at the boat ramp with 2 mulloway at least 20kg plus.

he asked them what mulloway were doing this far up river and they said they were giant carp but he was certain they were mulloway, now my question is do giant carp exist?

if not how in this world are jewies that far up river in the fresh?

i found it rather amazing as he was certain they were jew

Strange things do happen????? But jewies in the nepean??? I live at windsor and every year for the past three years I have caught my fair share of flatties at windsor while fishing for bass. It would be great to be able to catch jewies that close to home. we have had sharks at windsor, rarely though.The furthest up I have heard of jewies is sackville but as I said strange things do happen??

the thing i found quite intersting was that he said 2 were caught.

Benno at the Windsor shop has said a few peole have been getting jews at the bridge latley, the last 2 years we heard of none but for some reason this year they have been there. They could be up chasing prawns and mullet or getting rid of parasites.

ok thx alot for the spot ill see if i can try anywhere round there.. By the way at penrith weir as you walk along the path there is a big water bit up from the weir. I saw a carp atleast around 70 cm.. Im not sure how much it weighs but i was wondering if around there is great to cast at? Haha i was walking down there and i got covered in spikes :P . Dad had 4 casts and got nothing . (we had to move quick it was getting dark). yea so is that a fine spot to try out ?

Ive heard of monster bass coming out around that weir. Although the big girls will be congregating down around the salt water about now. I've caught bass to about 30 cm up around there.

Oh.. Right interesting. But all the carp are still staying down at the weir ? Are some bass staying down at the weir ? Any big fish staying at the weir ?
