Hit the squid grounds at 2am ,by 6:30 we had 20 squid.
Stuffed around at the usual haunts for kings(even went as far as harbord headland the weather was perfect).
Came back inside and hit middle harbour and caught a 4ft bull shark at pickering lol..while people were towing buiscuts 50 metres away.
Got a call from a mate downrigging around the corner ,hed just boated 2 legal kings so shot aroung there and anchored.
no downrigger yet so whacked down a nice fresh squid head(on my new pfleuger contender w/silstar crystal tip...needed christening badly0 and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz im into a king and boat my pb 66cm..now i know its not big but i didnt expect to christen this rod until next season so i was stoked.
My downrigging mate boated 4 kings and lost a couple to moorings(will buy downrigger asap)
The kings were all caught between 11 and 1 in the arvo
