Hey James fair call on the only target one species but for some of us we like to fill the time in between catching the almighty Jew and don't have the luxury of being in a boat to get to that killer spot.

...I always take a extra rod or two to target different species as well just to give me a better chance of taking home something for the family to eat and it adds to the challenge would laugh at myself trying to bring in a jew on my 4lb bream rig!:duel: :coool:

Dont laugh! I was fishing up at Iluka for jewies (who knows why when I live in the hawkesbury?) i had two butterflied tailor and a squid out and one very light rod out with a long thin sliver of tailor on it hoping for old man bream.
Guess which bait got taken??? Thats right, and it headed straight for New Zealand and Im pretty sure it wasnt a ray. The other baits didnt have a scratch on em!:eeek:

Did you read the post a week or two back about using one or two hooks, how many are you using...

i use 2 on a fixed snell, pin 1 through the nose one just behind their top fin when i use livies.
last case was a yakka that came back all crushed up after a solid first run! bout 1 1/2 mins.
