Hello All

A mate of mine (aka fishless wonder) has a (small) boat and between us we have some rods. We are new to fishing in Sydney. We have spent some time out in Pittwater and hooked a few smallish snapper (only one bag size).

I was hoping we could get some advice on where to go and maybe what baits are good. The boat is not big enough for off-shore but we have been as far as the Hawkesbury river. Our best spot at the moment has been West head. I am keen to get hold of some bigger snapper, yellowtail and maybe some Bream??

Any thoughts?

TRY DRIFTING BETWEEN LONGNOSE POINT AND SCOTLAND ISLAND DEPENDING ON THE BREEZE. BAIT- PRAWNS, NIPPERS, LIVE WORMS. U SHOULD CATCH WHITING, BREAM AND FLATHEAD. BEST GET THERE SOONER THAN LATER AS THE PROS WILL CLEAN IT OUT

West Head is a great place to catch live bait and and there's a chance to catch a Kingfish or two. Just be careful if there is a medium to large swell as it can get pretty rough there. Try the Basin, Mackerel Beach and any of the other bays for bream, flathead and tailor. The red marker of Palm Beach wharf is also a good spot on the run in tide.
