Replacing one piece of a two piece rod

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever replaced the top piece of a two piece rod. The reason i ask is that i snapped the top piece of my Shimano Stradic 7" rod and instead of buying another rod I want to try and replace the top piece. Has anyone done this or got any ideas?

Yeah just take it to your tackle shop and ask them for a new one, it will probably be a 1/3 to 1/2 of the original cost of the rod and will take only a couple of days to get in.
