Hi,

I am starting to look for a new (or used) trailer for my 5M quintrex.

Your thoughts, comments on types, expected costs etc would be very helpful.

I have been having a bit of a look in the tradingpost/ebay, but costs seem to vary :? :?: :?: :?

Thanks
Roy

Prices do vary considerably. You may be suprised to see what they are worth new. Make a few calls and find out. May be worth your while, depending on your budget, getting a newie!

If it was me look for a few things

[1] check whether skids or multi roller suits your style of hull
[2] size of wheels on the trailer
[3]some brands use annodized u bolts rather than galv. BUY GALVANIZED [WORTH THE EXTRA ]
[4]Check for galv axles and leafs worth the extra

[5]With a 5 m boat Id recommend a brake type trailer as pulling them aint the problem but stopping them is

I own a 475 bar raider and can pull it easily with my 2000 camry yet if you look at your car log book my car spec only allowed 400 kilo yet with a trailer brakes she's sweet for over a ton

I have 1 thing to say,buy a new trailer forget second hand,i got a tralier for my 5.5stejcraft 5 years ago from BOEING at Parramatta cost me $2465.
Have not had 1 problem what so ever,i rang so many places and there prices were very good,i would not go anywhere else again.

Yeah buy new, our Sea Link through Blakes Marine was $2382 and is good for any boat up to 1 tonne.
It has the tilt option had no probs so far, we carry a 4.65 Ally craft no worries.
