Harbour kingies

Hi all

nice site fellas, keep up the good work

hit the harbour last Sunday for an early start on squid and kingies. slow start to the squid but by 6am managed enough for a shot at some kings.

slow start to the kings as well until we hit a fav spot. Total tally of 4 kings, 60cm, 62cm, 70cm and a fat beast close to 90cm's. Picked up the 2 larger fish on my 4-8Lb bream gear with 10lb iron braid. top stuff the last 2 fish, managed to get it on video as well

The kings seem to have been hanging around that spot for a few weeks now.

Bluecod, you are right they have been hanging out there from what I heard.

Last week I picked up another 4 but only rats from another area which did not produce at all that day

It sure was a top day. Must admit only1 fish came from the wedding cakes and the rest at that spot.

But hitting em on bream gear was the best fun. As soon as we hooked up we would start the motor to get away from the structure.

wombat, I was pretty much stationary no trolling.

Byron, your more than welcome to pick my brains out mate. There are plenty of kingies around and some monsters amongst them

Good to see that you got out mate, well done on the fish.

The harbour is full of kings at the moment, and some real brutes are amongst them. I love summer!

do u no if u could catch em from the shoreline? also if u could give me sum directions to fishing spots i could actually get to and fish that would b awesome

also are you aloud to fish near the opera house with rods or is it just hand reels. My dad says its illegal but i think he cant b bothered goin there
