Hey all, quick report from our morning bash on wednesday. Out the heads just before dawn into a 12kt NE wind and really northerly swell. got out off dee why, had a drift for zeros just wrasse etc (we were prob drifting too fast). After an hour the wind dropped enough for us to head a bit closer in (to about 40m) and anchor. Got a berley trail of pillies and other offcuts going before we started to get into a few fish, as we watched some humpbacks cruise past spectacularly breaching and crashing back into the water. The first fish we got were all sgt bakers and the like before a couple of snapper came on - around about 35cm. an hour later the wind came up big time from the west and we were getting pretty uncomfortable, but by then we had 8 keeper reds from 35 - 50 cm as well as a decent blue mowie bout 50cm in the esky, and we had released a few nice trevally around 50cm as well. Decent day, bit of fun, except for the trip home getting soaked in the 40+kt winds. Still, could a been worse - we were going to go to the 12 mile..... :rolling laughter:
no pics this time sorry

Thats not a bad day. My spies tell me that the reds are in plague portion off sydney last 10 days. South as well/ Outside all ports. Port Hacking , botany & the heads. Any one agree with that??
. I am warming up the yami tonight for an early session in the morning

Went out this morning again before work and things have shut down considerably since wednesday. Got off the water about 10am. Lots of boats out off longy and i'm sure there will be fish caught but for us was very dissapointing on the reds....
Ended up with only 2 pan sized jobs.....
Heaps of big trevors though and a few other things about...
hooked up a port jackson a bit over a metre......
.......... but otherwise pretty dead...

Just spoke to flatrock who was out there this morn as well. He fished closer in and managed a few more snaps than i did, most were pan sized - bit above the 35cm mark. He also got a few thumper trevs close to 55cms.
