Yes, I know, It's only a little tacker. But when you get it on lightish line, and against all odds, then you would be as chuffed as I was to get this today!:headbang: :headbang:

He was in a lot better condition than my last one, and in all honesty had it all over me. I really shouldn't have been this lucky.:idiot: And on a pillie too!:rolling laughter: :rolling laughter:

Just before I landed this guy, I dropped a monster of a flatty right at the boat. This guy was a real Croc! He was about 30 CM's across the head.:ranting2: :ranting2:

James, it took a Pillie that I had rigged for any flattys that may come by as I was catching some Blurters. I found a school of them, and was doing OK on pieces of pillie. It came of a little 'Secret' reef right next to Shark Island.:rolling laughter: I don't know the water temps as I didn't have my sounder, but it was kinda greenish and I would say about 16 degrees.

I didn't try for squid, but if you wanted them for a Jew bait, I reckon yakkas would work. My last one that went 1.2 metres took a yakka.

i love my yellow tail for jew, but we always catch our squid to as back up. have been unable to target the squid in previous weeks due to the flood water run off.
