Its actually a rare congenital birth defect known as harlequin ichthyosis, google it for more info. Unfortunately most babies only live for a few days when born with this defect...

My daughter has Icthyosis. It can get rather bad. Icthyosis is a genetic abnormality in the skin's growth and at this stage there is no cure. There are drugs to control it, but these can be worse than the condition sometimes!:mad::mad:
