I was around the dural area on the weekend and had a quick session in a mates dam, its chocas with silvers and a few carp. first day I gave it a go we caught and relased 40 or more. However its mid winter and freezing at the moment so 4 in 30 mins seemed ok. The buggers wont touch lures for some reason, we have tried time after time, but thet are a bit partial to white bread and respond fantastically to burley. Enjoy

nah no carp, I want to get them out though, there are only 2 or 3 big gold koi in there...i wanna kill em. If they do breed though I think there are enough bigger silvers to sort em, but srill erradication is the aim

Yeah I've fished for silvers in an old unused pond on my mates fish farm. I dont know why they dont touch lures, the ones I fished for were on a natural diet only. Dosent make any sense!

I look at it like fishing for niggers, sit and watch the tiny float go down, wait for x seconds then STRIKE. Its heaps of fun and the bread is clean, other baits stink and lures require constant attention, who wants that on an easy Sunday?

Typical move to Qld and instantly corupted into a baity. One word for you chris to restore a little angler back into them veins, FLY ROD BROTHER....use your bread for burley then hit em with a bread fly, do it in summer & them things will burn ya fingers.

Great idea mate, next time I will come and borrow one of your flah fly rods. I didnt even think of that doh, really we like the bread bait for the young bloke with us, he is only five and it gives him his first taste if fishing.

I also know a dam at Arcadia (just up the road), with massive goldens in it. Only problem is the old lady says they're her pets, and gets the shot gun out every time she catches us sneaking into her paddock!
