This is a little spot about 20 mins drive from my place! Its a killer walk but very well worth it, even if you dont catch a fish wich NEVER happens down there. You dont need to pack water as you can drink from the river.

Hey Bassflicker, that looks beautiful there mate, kind of like a spot on the way to bowral I tried with a mate once. No fish for us on the day but man I just love the adventure side of fishing....As I have spoken to Bam about climbin rocks, swimming round to suss your spots, seeing spots like you have there is awesome and to catch some fish on top of that just makes it that little bit more special!

Thanks for sharing mate!:ohhh yeah:

The grose river is all I can really say Im afraid. You can catch Bass, the bass we catch there are never big 30 cm max. Though when you see them swiming under a log and you coax them out with a carefully placed lure, then see the take and watch the fish fight all the way to your feet. The fish dont need to be big , your adrenalin will be racing enough!

I've also caught mullet up there on small celta lures, along with herring or 'sprat' , there are also eels. All the other fish spicies are galaxids and the like, far to small to target with a rod. There are also a few types of spiny cray and platypus.

Maybe fishinf, we spent a while looking round and the climb down to the water was just a little dangerous.

Kamil, will have to get you up the coast with my best mate, he knows spots in the hills there that are good for bass. He reguarly gets yabbies and small bass for his fish tank, when they get bigger he releases them back into the wild, he has bred bass before and attempted to populate areas for later use. Haven't asked him how its going, need to catch up with him more often but this damned shift work means when I have days off he's working and vice cersa.

Bred bass?? He must be in the buisness, because they dont like to breed in captivity. Infact it is next to impossible without the use of hormones.

Mate I don't know the ins and out of it all....he's been into fresh and saltwater tanks for as long as I can remember his dad got him into them....a few years of knowledge there, I just enjoy watching them feed when I get up to visit him. He has a few large tanks, its one of his hobbys.

Sweet! I love aquariums though I dont have the time or space these days. It was either home brew or aquariums. The beer won!

Hi Bass
Is that spot of your to tough for a gent with arthritis, high blood pressure and flat feet?

No special reason for asking, except that Storms may try to worm out of you just where it is in which case I would hate to see him get down there and you having to carry him back. (It is not his weight thats the worry, he's just so bloody long he would catch on every twig making it twice as tough to get him back in one piece.)

By the way, dont tell me that your Rover can't get down there, sounds like you need a good Toyo to come along and tow you back up. (I would offer but I dont want to scratch the Prado.)

Did I tell you about my plans to do the Kokoda Trail, your spot looks like a good training run for that.

'IF' You can do the Kakoda you can get into the grose. No the Landy wont make it down to the river but it WILL go where no toyota has ever been before and it WILL climb its way out.

I have a sticker on the back of my truck and it says " LAND ROVER, DONT FOLLOW ME YOU WONT MAKE IT"

it says it all.:coool:
