went out last night with a mate to the spit about 11.30 pm got there things were pretty slow for squid an bream , so after about 2 hours i berlyed up an started catching yakkas (yellowtail) cuaght about 10 or so about 25-40cm mark they were all released back but it was good fun catchin them. the question here is can you eat yakkas ? any good recipes for them ? i mean i always catch them an never really tried eating them ? thanks

you can eat them wen they are big, not the little ones , just ones like 40 cm + they are nice to eat, give one a go and i bet you like it

Now your talking!!:headbang:

If you have burlyed up a school of yakkas under the lights at the spit, half the work is done. There would have to be some big oogly's lurking around just wating to inhale an injured Yakka!! Give it a go!

Alot of Asians i know personally eat them with scrambled eggs in the mornings? They love it, one of the same Asian mates last year gave me some on a local wharf to try as Sashimi, and i was pleasantly surprised.

As others have said also, great live bait for big fish too!
