I've just remembered this tonight. A couple of months back I went to get something to eat at Harrys Cafe De Wheels @ Woolloomolloo.

It was interesting to see that there are actually fish hanging about looking to feed on scraps behind the food van (in the water of course). I'm not sure what kind of fish they are but when I was there at night my friend dropped some bread into the water & I saw something swim up & it took the bread immediately.

There are ducks in the area too so the fish have to compete for the food scraps. I've never seen anyone fish there but that's probably because there's a lot of people about eating their hot pies or hot dogs. The fish come right up to the wall & the water is no more than 30-40cm deep.

I wonder if it's worth a try to freak out some of the customers eating there. It might be an easy spot for bait fish if someone can ID the catch + the fish seem ravenous.

:luck:

yeah there are some big bream and blackfish around the wharf there and im sure they've learnt where the scraps are being thrown in!! Light line with no weight and a bit of bread should do it

Stef's right they are brem & some big 1's too, can't access the area by boat because of naval no go zone, so they don't get alot of fishing presure.

If using smelly baits keep them secure And in a bag or container. We counted 30 rats siting on the bench in a ten minute Pie session in april.:eeek: These small cats in packs appeared from the rocks. We chucked things at them and they just laughed at us.

Sydney's biggest and well feed rats in town. Soft Plastics may be a better Idea to keep those pests away.:luck:
