View Full Version : Hawkesbury bream report.
Went Saturday for a look around with Lee, had a reasonable day with 7 legal bream averaging around 500 grams 2 just legal flathead & a nice winter bycatch, a Bass:ohhh yeah: that compaired to the bream, hit a hardbody like a freight train in the racks. been a while since iv'e been bassin so it was a very welcome catch.
what a differance a day makes, went down again today & had the worst days fishing i can ever remember having in the hawkesbury, 7-12 for NADA:noway: , not even a bump of intrest, another mate also out said basically the same 1 small flathead & lost a bream at the boat, other than that not a tap. makes ya wonder sometimes what changes thier moods so quickly.

good report greg im coming up there in coming months
it is amazing the differance a day makes
Greg, great work about yesterday,i'll add to todays efforts and say i went offshore and trolled and cubed and stripped line til my arms fell off and stripped some more til i had no more clothes left on! For nuttin!
Mates lost a 30kg Fin at the boat at Browns due to gear failure? Also heard one Albacore caught @ 5kg, but have not heard much more and have not spoken to a few people that are either still out there or not back yet. For a few boats out there it was quiet! Water temp down to 17.2 at the Canyons and 18.5 at Browns.
Oh well there is always next week.

Not berowra but yep ya will find them there also if ya look in the right places, further towards the front, often you can get bass or EP's this time of year if ya look for them, all the way down the hawkesbury & even in broken bay.
With EP's this time of year (june/july) look for the kelp beds & present them small plastics like small sliders, 2" curltails or 1 or 2" craws, garlic scent also helps.
So Lee ya had swimming chicken for dinner then, well done.

Thanks Greg, you are always a fountain of knowledge! Im might just crack out the sliders over the weekend. Do you think green and chartruse would be the go or something a little more subtle??
