Hey guys, Tales from a little north.

Finished work early Sunday morning, headed up C-Coast arrived @ 2.45am, loaded boat and headed for Woy Woy ramp.

First baits down, within a short time we had a fey taylor and yakkas onboard so headed out to Lion island. No Joy. Sun coming up so trolled the coast for a few k's then headed out to a couple of reefs and trolled around them.

round 8am wind came up and headed in to pick-up another mate. My friends new boat (19ft Riptide custom centre console-100hp merc) handled the chop and swell really well, couple of hairy moments coming in through box but we enjoy the feeling of weightlessness.

Head back out to headland in search of snapper, haji calls and my rod goes off, port Jacko big enough to give me a little thrill. Head north for more trolling over some close to shore reefs, end up anchoring on south reef for a few hours with 4 other boats berlying up only saw one small snapper come in.

Head back to outer box to drift with some fillets to try for flathead, couple of others with same idea, no joy first couple drifts so we anchor for more livies and send out a couple of flappers. Shark time again-shovel nose. Live bait tank re-stocked, drop mate off.

Back to box for change of tide no action for a while then my 6500 has a couple of agressive tugs then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, we think it was a jew, fight lasted bout 5 mins then pulled in broken trace bugger. only bout five mins after the loss in comes a wobbegong-dopey thing but put up a good fight in the strong current.

Got to rip bridge and ran out of fuel:rolling laughter: :rolling laughter: paddle to marina-closed. Get friend to bring fuel, got home @ 10.30pm......

Had a top day, mates new boat was awesome, tons of room and handled the chop/swell really well (he will be heading this way soon Kamil/Haji and if possible would like to get you guys onboard)....Fish let us down but hey, was on the water again and miles from work.

Will post pic's tonight.

Seems like you had a great time fishing. I changed mind late Saturday night and decided not to go as i thought the seas on Sunday would not be the best, i was right from what i have heard from others.

I bet it was great to be on a boat, if you drive out striaght from Lion Island til you get to a depth of 50m, just drift there, plenty of Flatty's to be had just for future reference. I actually thought you were going off Terrigal and not the Hawkesbury, maybe a Hairtail fish could have been on the cards?

All good Kamil, the way I look at it is I went out and enjoyed myself....I'm not in any competition with anyone else so wether I catch nothing or fill bag limits I'm still having fun.:rolling laughter:

Quinnie, I caught the port J on my 6500, not really much of a fight, had to test it out so cranked up the drag, as per Wayno style and pulled it in easily.

Kamil, the moonlight was tops, sunrise was awesome....These are the things I don't usually get to see so it just makes getting out there darn special. Was so nice being out there. Only neg is my balance is still a little stuffed-up:rolling laughter:

Wayno, caught the second shark on the ez90, it pulled it in easily-can't wait to give it a solid test.
