my old man has been to manihiki its a small very small island in the middle of the ocean with a lagoon in the middle. my old man is in the pearl industry an he brang back videos of the place , they drink fresh cocnut juice there its everywhere , ask for netti or bobby there very good people . they even have flying fish there that are are caught at night using a light source (they jus fly towards) oh as the locals to take you fishing for the coconut fish wich can only be caught berlying with coconut shavings an then caught with a bare hook that has white string attached to it apparently they taste the best . all the best mate

http://www.cookislands.org.uk/aerials.html here's some pics.....A small commercial op to start with covering tuna, sword, live coral trout, trochus, pearl and aquarium fish......Down the track a small tourist op to cater for surfers, divers and spearo's,sports and game fisherman. The lad im goin with lives there and is here buying a tuna boat for the job....He and his family have cultural heritage there and are now starting to develope there awsome resources....The waters off these islands and south to N.Z, should provide some awsome fish'n....Oh yeah bout them bream rods lil bro....My mate told me there is awsome big bone fish there in lagoons but they rarely catch em so i reckon a couple of me sticks will be goin along with me punt to stalk the shallows of the lagoons to see what i can hunt.....:beerchug:

Good luck mate and its a big step but I bet it will pay off.

Keep in touch as maybe just maybe I might be able to make it over in the not to distant future if you are offering a charter. I know the Cook Islands has some very big fish there so it seems youwill be able to get your BIG FISH ACTION easily enough.

Good luck again and I hope everything works out.

Cheers
