I just got a message from my good mate Pat who is on the water as Im writing this. He said theyre using soft plastics and hualing in loads of flatties. I think they where actually targeting E.P's around weed beds at Juno but they cant get a softie in the water without pulling up a flathead. I've put my order in for three around 40cm mark . Lets see if he'll come through?? I'll let you all know.

Hey BF, I experienced the same thing up Forster and The Entrance last couple of year's with a mate, we were watching the flatties under the bridge's darting in and out smashing the prawns caught in the runout tide. We started throwing soft plastics into the shadow of the bridge and slowly retrieving into the light....only took an hour or so to get a bag full of fat flatties. First time I experienced this was also the first time I used SP's.
The Flathead are starting to move around, the Estuaries are slowly getting warmer, you will see them move around in next few weeks!
And man do they love those SP's!

Gday ALL..
{This been a FLATHEAD THREAD,thought id post here if its ok}..
Went out today with the conditions been overly perfect:cool-smiley: ,sun shine,,,run in tide this morning with little to no breeze at all..
Fished the Shoalhaven River near Broughton Creek,{half way between Nowra & Greenwell Point},alot of floating weed all day due to the WANKERS licenced fisho,s been netting all night in the river id say and using BOTH squidgies & White bait,,obviously using 2 rods,,i had to work hard for the fish..
The drift was slow this morning & when the tide turned,,wasnt till it was half way out beforer i was getting any bites..
Biggest fish was 55cm,,smallest was 45cm,,,,4 in total and a heck of alot of small under sized fish too..
I guess a bad days fishing is a GREAT day out away from the MRS,,,got to be happy with that i guess..:hellyeah:
