mate i aint no expert on any spots around sydney or the windang area but that headland looks like it has some top spot both open and protected also both the north and southern beach looks like it would hold some nice salmon and the little river looks like it might hold some flatheads and maybe a jew but like i said mate i have no experice in fishing in nsw and can only guess by looking at the pic
best of luck to u for thursday night mate

HSV, I hope Fishman gives you a hand here, its one of his spots.

I have fished at late arvo/night at the area just inside redall pde....Were big bream, whiting and flathead there of good size....Used soft plastics and small bass style lures.

Good luck mate.

hahahah ye it is one of my spot. That pic is abit old there is 2 more breakwalls now, the channel is opened up tooo. Umm u can try the breakwall for tailor n bream especially when there is alot of wash. Umm the northeastern point of the island for pelagics. Beach for the usual just goto find the gutters thatz all. Hope that helps.

Yeah, I didn't know it was open and haven't seen it open before but fishman posted this 5 days ago and he goes there more than I so I gather it is open.

Many many years ago the mouth of the Illawarra Lake used to be open. Then the mouth of the lake closed up due to lack of rain because of the drought we had. It was also because after they installed the southern breakwall I'd say. Only recently because of the heavy rainfall has the lake level risen & I guess from Fish Mans reports the mouth is once again open. Which means there should be much more sand whiting comming in to breed when it gets more warmer.

Has anyone out there fished Bass Point? It gets pretty packed out there with people fishing & also scuba divers. The Southern end of that area is protected but you can see people fishing the NW cove off the rocks.

A few years ago I used to fish at Bass point, top surf spots there and also plenty of salmon, Taylor and Frigate Makerel. Good spot for spinning.

Yeh it's South of Windang. It's kinda looks like a headland. You could walk to the fishing spot it's a good 150m tho lol. I've never tried fishing there, but last summer I could see people line up on the rocks really close to each other & when we drove towards the area there was no parking at all. South of the headland at Bass Point is protected so you're not allowed to fish there.
