View Full Version : Narrabeen Lagoon to open today
G'day all,
just read in the Manly Daily that after yesterdays downpour the council is going to open the lagoon today at 12 noon. Get in early for your fishing spot on the beach as i'm sure there will be quite a few people waiting for the lagoon to open.
Cheers

G'day,
I wouldn't get too carried away, the fishing will be good for the next couple of months after the lake opens, if you go down there today, all you will see is the sickening sight of a bunch of turds netting fish as they try to escape from the lake.
Matt
Is it worth telling Fisheries and try to prevent these idiots netting?
Cheers,
Neil
Fisheries did actually attend last time, but it was late in the afternoon, after lots of folks with nets and eskies etc had claimed thier fish. They didn't do much except tell everyone to bugger off.
But, the fishing as always was excellent for a few months afterwards

Went down to North Narra beach at about 5 this morning armed with some live poddies, frozen squid & some old snapper fillets.
No wind, low tide at 08:15, not many structural features (high tide would have been different), but what the heck.
There were two other guys who were there before me, not sure how they went, and another guy arrived at about the same time as me.
I think he was using worms, as he was getting a few whiting and dart.
I got nothing at all (except I nearly jagged a surfer - how many points would I get for that?).
I shoulda moved down the beach to find other gutters, but I'd arranged to meet my son after his surf. I won't next time.
Good luck peoples and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Cheers,
Neil

Has anyone else fished the lake since it was opened?
