Went out looking for yellow fin again yesterday.
After quickly looking at the SST charts from Tuesday knew that there was some warmer water a little wider than Browns. We trolled from 3km inside the shelf to 10km past Browns for zilch. Pulled the lures in and starting cubing probably around 10.30am. Again patience is the biggest key to this type of fishing so cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after cube after.... anyway you get the idea. Was looking like it was going to be a quiet day, fortunately I wasn't as dispondant as the crew, when zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz we were on to the first yellowfin of the day..... After about another hour we had a 2nd then the 3rd , 4th and 5th all followed within the next 1/2 hour. The last virtually took the bait out of our hands. It had come up the trail with the 4th fish we caught and we were throwing it pillies whilst we quickly rig up another bait to toss to him about
1m from the back of our boat. Fantastic sight fishing.
All in all we had a great day except for the bruising that Black Quinnie received to a certain part of his anatomy. I think his new name is black and blue balls Quinnie. At least his wife was grateful.........:idiot:
