Is that the entrance to Cooks River at the Airport? Usually only Bream and Flathead found around there, possible Trevally and Whiting too, fishes best on the high and run out as the stuff runs out of Cooks River, predators lie and wait to ambush the outgoing bait.

Dont despair as fishing is tuff most places these days. The Salmon schools are around the heads, Clifton Gardens has seen some too.

Either cast a 20gram Raider lure at them or similar if you see them busting up, or any type of small SP's like a small Shad or Power Minnow? OThers will help in the SP category, i am not a fan of them, or you can try using live bait, strips of yakkas or other baitfish, or whole pillies on gang hooks.

Your normal rig for bigger fish would consist of a 1m trace of about 40lb line, to a two hook rig, around 3/0 - 6/0 Octapus or similar, with a Snapper lead or Ball sinker in the size 3 to 4. This is what i use for most of my wharf fishing in Sydney and get good results.

This Raider (http://www.campbellsprotackle.com/store/product.asp?ID=668) lure is all you need, dont get carried away buying too many, just buy them in 10gram and 20gram and maybe a 65gram size, purple hologram is nice, but thats the users preference, tie it to a 1m trace of about 30lb line or if your main line is 30lb or so, then tie it straight to the lure. just watch the trace/line after a few hooked fish and make sure it is not frayed.
Another good one if the Salmon are finicky is the River2Sea (http://www.campbellsprotackle.com/store/product.asp?ID=2568) 7gram Sea Rock, hard to cast because of its weight, but will get you the fish if cast on small rod.
