View Full Version : MacDonald Sacked
With the sacking of Ian MacDonald does anyone think that it will change the direction that fisheries are going? The faces of the ministers may change the bureaucrats stay the same.

Hi mate
Its the best news that I have heard this year. :) :) :) :)
This will change nothing though. How many times have we seen the pollies quit and then 6 months later they are in the news defending themselves infront of panel of mates regarding an under the table deal. The clown that just left has a lot to answer for as does his offsiders. The next problem we all face is that regarding Pittwater we have to write letters off to the new highly paid Pro that will fill the now vacant role.
Ian McDonald is a farmer and should have never been given the portfolio that he was. ( Remind me to donate money to him when the next floods wipe him out and is left with nothing)
It is evident that the fishing industry is seperate from farming and the DPI should appoint a person that has no bais on the subject. He/she should also be an experienced fisherperson that has a passion for their work.
I know of no one in government at present that fits the bill.
The next person that they will consider I have been told is a Tasmanian commercial fisherman.
GOD HELP US if this is true.
All the best

Dont get too excited....Wrong Ian Macdonald. There are 2 of them. One is Federal Fisheries Minister, and ours is the STATE DPI Minister!
Senator Ian Macdonald the FEDERAL Fisheries Minister is the one that got sacked!

And I bet you guys all thought it was Ronald that banned all those poaching fishers didn't you? In a way it's good that one of them has gone, purely so everyone sees and understands that Ian AKA "Ronald" Macdonald has NEVER done anything to benefit the NSW recreational angler. And I challange him to come on here and tell us otherwise!
