There were 100's of EP's washed up on the shoalhaven river banks a few weeks back.

Caught in pro's nets & a species not permited 2b put through the markets pro's just turfed them back into the river

If it was pro's. That is ony of the worst things Ive heard in a long time. Its spawning season or the end of it atleast. So not only did they wipe out a heap of fish but they wiped them while they where breeding!

It only takes a few of those incedents to create a localised extingtion. I wouldnt be fussed if they banned all commercial fishing, im not saying that they should, as it is peoples livley hood.. It would just have no real effect on me. I dont buy fish from the seafood shop anyway. As a fisherman I gather my own food from the sea.

Unfortunately the Shoal haven is a bad spot for commercial fishos! The amount of Tonnes of Jews they have taken from there is sickening!:3d boo hoo: Not to mention what JG just said about the EP's!:1badmood:

Bass flicker it was just after all that rain we had if you recall they openened the Dam cause it was overflowing.

Cant say I'm any sort of expert on EP's only ever caught a couple whilst spining for Brims but as Kamil mentioned shoalhaven is very heavily netted something like 28 boats net the place.

I could turn the clock back 20 years & tell you stories about the area you wouldn't believe used to catch that many fish it wasn't funny, these days it's not so easy & you have to really work for your fish exept for the flathead they're always about.

Shhhhh, lol, now they will target the flatties & drag the **** outa the bottom as well.
I don't particularly care to say I hope they ban pro's from all estuaries, I like catching fish for sport & as has been stated by others it just keeps gettin tougher & tougher.
be carfull what you write on the internet also, don't think they don't read it and let us do there leg work for them.
Yep it is their job but if they keep going they will have nothing to catch anyway!:idiot: :ranting2:
I and others have seen bass & EP's getting disgarded from nets in the hawkesbury so yep it definately does happen, what a waste & like you say in breeding times.
why even have a bag limit or size limit when they get killed anyway, it's pathetic.
