Welcome to the site Wez.

As far as fishing Brooklyn, I can't help too much as I don't fish there much. But we do have a lot of knowledgeable folk on here, and I'm sure one of them will jump in to help as soon as they see your post!

G'day Wez and welcome mate,

Brooklyn can be a tough spot but there are a couple of places that offer a chance at a reasonable fish - eastern point of Long Island [end of rail causeway], the point at McKell Park, the point at Deadhorse Bay and Deadhorse Bay on a full tide. [Deadhorse Bay is the first bay south of Parsley Bay] All these spots can be walked to from the rail station.

Few points to remember - fish as light as possible [both line and sinker size], use fresh or live bait and fish the change of tides [best in low light conditions].

All the best and hope you get amongst a few.

Try under the road bridge before Brooklyn. There is a channel that runs paralel to the road that holds Flathead. When the tide is running throw out soft plastics and leave them to swim in the current.

Wez. in my experience the only way to be guaranteed the bait you're using is fresh is if you catch it yourself!

Failing that, Thornleigh Bait and Tackle has a decent range of fresh and good quality frozen bait as well as a few other tackle shops about the place...
