Well it looks like its worth getting into, so many comps, so many good prizes, which one to enter?
certainly not the one later in the year at Lower Portland, no way you should go in that one mate. :D You should consider the ones in Queensland !
at least your site let me post this info, another one removed all my posts.

doh too much fishin ............ahh well
StClair next round. fishing tough at the moment.
was up there last week. Saw multiple guys doing pre-fishes.
Spent 2 full days casting: Jackalls, Kackalls, Soft plastics (stick baits and paddle tails, both light and heavy), a truckload of shallow diving minnows. Not a sniff (maybe one tap at best).
Then decided to troll a deep diver around a point on the way back to camp. 9 bass in 45 mins. Bloody trolling.
I'm seriously considering taking a deep diver with me for the St Clair round, and when pulled up somewhere, just pegging it out into the lake as far as I can and trying to get it down there.
Elvis,
This time of year you'll get alot trolling but they will mainly be small fish, every now & then you may get a good one, mainly small ones though.
When you are trolling it's the perfect time to learn how to use your sounder & what its actually telling you. (All sounders do actually work) it's just learning how to adjust yours to it's optimum (in manual & pure sonar "no fish shapes") & then working out what it's telling you.
Next time you see e'm on your television, stop over e'm tune it in (SENSATIVITY) & jig e'm up with plastics OR any type of sinking lure that can be worked vertically, at the depth it tells you & you may start picking up the better ones that, for seasonal or barometric reasons, don,t want to chase a trolled lure but if you wave something in there face that either appeals to e'm OR pisses e'm off enough, they will eventually give it a rattle, & yes the barometer was falling over most of saturday. Dodgy baro means you have to think alot more to try & crack e'm & in a comp you might sit on e'm for 4 hrs (yes BOARING) & get 2 bites, but put those 2 in the boat & thats your bag for that session, not much fun, but you have to fish the fish!
Greg...
For those heading to StClair for PRO BASS this w/end or ABT 2 weeks after, the water is about 1m off the end of the boat ramp & you may struggle retrieving your boat with 2w/d cars & after storm on sunday there is a large area in center of ramp washed away by run off(hopefully councel will do a gravel drop by then).
St clair fishing very tough on w/end. Andy cowling fishing with me finished 6th, very, very tedious deep jigging all comp, but 8 out of the top 10 got there fish this way, i need some chill pills to keep my concentration for that long, doing that. but thats what you have to do. the guy who won it fished a 20m area for all 3 sessions, terribly boaring but he took home the money.....
what deep jigging jackalls and/or sliders? not terribly exciting is it...
I'll be up there for the ABT in a fortnight, still planning on bringing the mighty Chubbys!
