Hi guys , my boss went fishing last weekend in his cousins new Webster and he had a Hummingbird GPS/sounder on board , so now he wants one too . What is the best dual display unit to get ? Must be easy to use and simple , but function well too . Price is no object if its worth the money but hes looking in the $1200 area I think .
Any help would be great.

Personally I wouldn't buy a duel & go 2 seperate units
Seperate sounder & seperate GPS
Many reasons 1st of all you can link the seperateunits to one another so in fact they basically are one.
If 4 arguements sake you do have a fault with a single unit then you lose everything but with the seperate units you @ least have one working.
Again sounder will depend on what sort & where you fish hummingbirds are ok but if you want a decent sounder then go look @ the Furuno's

M8 it also comes down to choice, what you can fit on the dash? sometimes cobos fit better and sometimes individual units fit best:hellyeah: measure where it is going and take it from there:ohhh yeah: also combos are generally a more powerful unit:bricks: Good luck with it
I would also go two seperate units.
I truly do not think you can go past the Furuno range, the Pro's don't use them for nothing! They really crap on anything else out there.
Boilers link is where you should be looking. Go the FCV-620 or the FCV-585 if you can afford it with a 1kw transducer. In all honesty they are top units and will find you fish!

mate i have just finished talking (emailing) with David from Taylormarine, and he suggested i visit Bias for better pricing.
I have been looking at the GP-32
http://www.taylormarine.com.au/upl_images/GP32(thumb).gif
The GP-32 is an advanced GPS Navigator built for vessels of all sizes. This compact and cost effective unit offers extremely accurate position fixes. The customisable display mode offers user friendly navigation displays that are quicky accessed by the press of a single button.
Features:
4.5" Silver Bright Daylight Viewing Display
Extra large digits set on customisable display
Multiple Display Modes
999 waypoints
50 Routes and 1,000 track points
One touch waypoint entry
Simple installation and operation
Me personally i would be looking at a Sounder and a Chart Plotter, not just a GPS unit. The Chart Plotters are so detailed these days that they contain every bommie, channel Marker and pole in the rivers and outside that you can navigate thru thick fog with them if you are an experienced driver. Thats just what would suit me better. Everyone i guess is different.

No worries mate.....Blow the budget and get the Furuno-seperate's as Kamil said....Your boss won't be dissappointed and will have a sounder and Chart plotter that will prolly still be the current model in a couple of years time....
I got a Furuno 4100 from Haji for a mate(was 2yrs old) and they still sell the same sounder unchanged for 2 years....few manufacturers make a product that good that they don't have to apparently improve it every 6-12mths.
