Went out for a fish yesterday not had a good run trying to catch myself a YFT this season must be getting old :banghead:
One run which I assumed was a YFT reeled back a baitless hook
My nephew did however get a small Mahi on a pilly bait

Yeah it seems the young guy attracts the Mahi's
He boated one last season around this time which would've been up around the 25 kg mark.
His old man stuffed up @ the gaff ripped straight through the fish's shoulder & swam away.
No pics of that one but do have it on video somewhere may pull out the video & take one of the frames& turn it into a jpeg

Yeah well it's pee'ing me right off this season 8 trips now with zero results on the fin.
Snuck out to the Canyons after lunch yesterday & although the water temp was good @ 19.3 deg the water was still green not filthy green but green none the less.
Cubed for just over 4 hrs & it didn't even feel like we were going to get a fish, no current out there @ all cubes going straight down.
All that can change over night I'll prob sneak out again during the week if weather stays like today
ps] Just about all the graphs come from the same gov dept
