Just heard on the radio that two men were found dead washed up on Avoca Rocks/Beach? They may have been fishing from authorities believe and got washed off the rocks. Anyone heard more info.

Yes they were fishing off Nth Avoca not Avoca was a group of asians i believe and a freak wave came. But from when i checked the surf no way it would of been safely fishible specially at nth avoca generally picks up bigger swell. My mate was spearfishing a bit further round of the skillion and he said even that was dangerous so an unfortunate accident. Its the second accident near avoca in the past cpl of days as my lil brother was also badly injured round avoca be on the news soon. He is in weastmead intensive care wit serious spinal injuries and has 2 broken vertabraes in his neck and 24 staples in his head from the injury. So yer i no ill be staying away from the stones for a little while.

Hi Tyrone
Just read about your brother mate, I am sorry to hear the bad news.
I will keep my fingers crossed for him and your family. I hope everything will be OK. They are great at Westmead and were great to my dad when he suffered a hangmans break plus numerous other injuries.
Your brother is in good hands there.
If theres anything any of us fishos can do to help, just yell.
All the best

Take back about nth avoca they were fishing sth avoca near winney bay. Its belived one was washe din a couldnt swim and the other man jumped in to save him also couldnt swim. My brother wasnt fishing at the time but for some reason he thought he was but they were jumping off. He was able 2 wiggle his toe in his right foot this morning so is a good sign.

Lets hope he keeps improving. And like Phil suggested...I think between a few of us we should be able to rustle up some kit for him if needed.

Tyrone,
I have a young friend who was hurt in a mountain bike accident. His initial prognosis was quadraplegia. 9 months later, after an inordinate amount of hard work, a few operations, and sheer guts, he is walking and has returned to school.

Wriggling toes are just the start of a long road to recovery, but it is that, the start of his recovery.

Best of luck to him and to you and your family.

Cheers
Ken

First operation is tommorow where the neurosurgeons have to take a bone out of his hip and place it into his neck held with another metal disc. BEcause he is so young and still growing it is a dangerous operation and has 2 be performed a couple of times. Thanx everyone for their concern etc i will let him no everybody is thinking of him.

Bit of good news now boys his operation today where they took a bone out of his hip and put it in his neck was a success. So now we have 2 see how he recovers from this but the neurosurgeons were extremely happy. And again thanx for all the support boys.

Good News Tyrone, he'll be in our thoughts daily. I'm sure he will be ok. The doctors these days are so good. One of my best friends got hit off a motorbike, broke his neck in two places, he lives a good life these days. Has titanium pins in his neck, arms and legs, but he is here, and that is the main thing, oh and he's walking and running and fishing.
