went fishing today in the harbour, started at low tide at 12pm. Fish till 4pm.

landed one 32 cm trevally, lost something big off the pylon, it pulled drag for like 5 seconds then PING! gone, i wonder what it was? maybe a bigger trevally? burleyed with bread and tuna chunks. Used prawns.

Nice work Champ, thats a really nice photo, i would sat=y what busted you off was either a 50cm Trevally or a King, they seem to have appeared of late. At least you were out there and enjoying the good stuff.

A Surgeon !
If the line was cleanly cut&the take &run savage with no discernable tail beats and the fish went immediatley 4 the wharf I would think a surgeon fish as there are lots at that location Did u use smaller hooks?

that sounds like the other day for me, i landed a 30cm trevally but before that i hooked on to something at sow and pigs that did 2 10-15 second runs before snapping my trace line on the reef.

The surgeon's are biting thru the taut line.Try a longshank x-strong hook &25lb line and locked drag.these fish are like silver drummer on steroids!
