Hi Guys & Gals,

Im a new member and keen fisho. After collecting a reasonable amount quality tackle over the years i came accross a spinning reel called Zebco Rhino ST5000. I was wondering does any one have an opinion or owns one?
They look very well built all alloy with very strong gearing. I think this is made in Germany.

After close examination and talking to the guy at the tacle shop he said even though their not popular in Oz they are as good as any other for heavy fishing and applications eg. jigging etc. it wasnt cheap about $400 but bought it anyway to see if its true. Will take it up north over Chrissy and give a work out to see.

Does anyone have any experience with these reels?

Thanks :beerchug:

there are a few different European reels that are pretty good. Everol (italian?) used to be ok and there are plenty of other less well known. We seem to get just the japanese and american game reels. If its mechanical and its engineered/made in germany you'd have to think its pretty sweet. the drag might be the biggest issue. The only real way to find out is to use it tho.

Everols were are very good reel

Very simple & very robust

Originally brought into Oz by Bassers think they stopped importing them quite a few years back.

Haven't seen one of those Zebco Rhino Reels but sound like they're a pretty Horny reel if the name is anything to go by. :banghead:
