Good on ya mate....nice fish...Good to see your king on 8lb line-might suprise some fellas here who tend to use much heavier gear!

Look forward to your next report.

Not a fan of kingies but nothing like landing a decent fish on light tackle Well Done

mate good on you... nice kingie on light gear,
i was just up at the lake for a week, i went fishless, my mum got a crab and a flounder, me dad a flattie... there was alot of under sized fish around.

Lake macquarie is easy to fish if you got a sounder.I take alot of novices out that dont believe in plastics and after a session they sooooon learn. There are several barges and reefs, but i catch most my fish on 5 inch berkley gulps 1/4 ounce jig heads around the edges and drop offs of cardinal marks.Try it a cardinal mark means rough ground wherever you go,sound around and fish edges and up to the reef not on top, thats basically it ,with plastics if you arnt catchn any thing slow down, patience is the key.:luck:

That is the best advice you can get when casting plastics!!!

by the way, good score up in the lake, site casting a king in shallow water does not happen very often:ohhh yeah:

no idea
