View Full Version : Wiring for Eagle Cuda 128
I'm trying to diagnose an electrical problem with my Cuda 128. However, the manual does not have any information indicating which of the pins are for the power. I don't want to use trial and error as the chances of frying the unit or the transducer are two high.
Can anyone tell me which pins are for connection to the positive and negative terminals of the battery?

PERIL, best way to find out which pin is power is to get a test globe, and try each pin..eg..........globe/ one side power cable the other side earth cable.I have one made up at home it helps me get out of trouble.
Persisted a bit more in my search and found a diagram on the web

You want pin assignment or circuit board wiring?
Heres the pin assignment for the 128/168http://www.eaglesonar.com/images/Pinouts/eagle-c128-168-pinout.jpg
Let us know which wiring you're after and someone may be able to help!

Awesome - thats all i needed. My battery leaked in transit, and the rubber that encased the female pins that push into the back of the unit melted and corroded. I am just going to hard wire it in, as i cannot seem to get a new lead from any local shops unless someone has a better idea?

Adam, try get hold of a hard plastic piece and re-make the original insert....Should be able to get the metal contacts from somewhere like Jaycar and just use a thin tip on your soldering iron to make the holes in the plastic and put a drop of superglue in each hole prior to inserting the metal contacts. This worked a treat for a car amp years ago for me!
Good luck.

Thanks Jason,
Will be trying that next. I sourced a new lead, but for an extra $18 i could have upgraded to the 168 when I don't really want to spend any dollars at all.
Thanks for all the tips.....
