Gday all..:ohhh yeah:

I went out fishing in J.B yesterday with a friend who is in the navy..{yes he is married..LOL}.

We fished from 6:30am till 2pm..

We started {obviously} from HMAS Creswell and went to Point Perp,,Bowen Island,,,Long nose point and to Honey Moon Bay all for 3 huge Mother in law fish,,{Red Rock Cod}..

There was a strong N/E all day which made drifting hard and even with a small sea achor out,,did make a difference but nothing decent to catch..

Hi-Light of the day was watching 4 HUGE whales AT PLAY in the bay.:hellyeah: :hellyeah: :hellyeah:

IF only we put his boat in at Murray ramp {out near Bowen Island},,going onto a Military Base,i was NOT able to take my camera, and yes i was cheesed off too would of LOVED to of got pix of the whales to show my wife & kids and post up here too..

Oh well,,,there be a next time we head back out to the bay,,,and i HOPE !! we DONT have a roaring N/E ..

Surprised you didn't try Middle Ground or if it's not too bad duck down to the "old lighthouse" just south of Bowen Island. The main thing is that you were out and not sitting on your backside like me

Gday mado..

We wanted to try Middle Ground, but due to the N/E blowing,,middle ground was a bit un comfortable..

I did have the big camera with me about 5 weeks back offshore here in Sydney when a pod of those Killer Whales appeared a couple of hundred meters away from us.

Never seen them B4 & doubted rhat they were killer whales wasn't sure they visited our waters later asked a few of the guys @ the club who said very rare but had also seen them in years gone by.

Anyways pulled out the camera put the big lens on it & waited for them to surface again dont like looking @ the lcd screen pretty crappy if sun is on it so had camera to my eye & got the crap scared out of me.

Free Willy surfaced about 5 meters behing the boat & all I saw was a black blurr missed getting any shots & confirmed my belief that camera's are fish scarer's cause they disappeared after that.
