hello lads

just wondering if there is a certain way to catch travelly from shore or just keep using the same setup a s normal. Al this came from when i caught my first travelly and its was 35 cms and the nicest tasting fish i ever had. I think that is what has go me addicted to them. If any one could suggest what bait leader and if/not u can use sp's to catch them.

thanks
jase

mate just do what your doin and remeber the basics,

lightest line possible for the area you are fishing,

in my experience theyve taken a wide range of baits but the humble prawns do the job quite well

and they do take sps, berkley 3 inch powerbaits have done well for me as have squidgy wriggglers.

good luck!!

so 15 lb line wouldnt be any good?
is 4-8lb good?
why does the weight of the line have anything to do with it?

LOL how did u know

Well a fish near A bridge i dont know where THE bridge is .If your talking about the general holmes drive brigde i usually fish there and it works heaps good. On friday night i caught the travelly and caght and optopus but it got away about 1 meter from shore and hit the runner and i was pissed off. on sat i went caught about 20 fish 10 5-10cm snappers (i didnt keep them) and 8 legal whitings and 2 flounder.

on sunday i went on the rocks that are paralel to the thing for the airplane where the gate gets closed from sunrise to sunset and caught about 30 little snapper about 10 seconds after i casted. also 6 legal whiting and another flounder.

Wish i could go today but its a skool day and i gotta study for them shitty yera 9 tests. i dont think i would of caught anything as it rained laste night i mean pourred down.

FrdEd cani ask how old r u ?

cheers anyways

LOL - I know because you said that's where you normally fish.
Good to hear to caught a few.....I might have to try down there sometime.
Did you climb over/around those gates....I think I know where you mean.
Lately I have been fishing out the front....near Brighton Baths. Catching many small snapper and whiting - No keepers.
I tried this afternoon with one of those Sandworm SP's...got a couple of bites....but it was really windy & choppy and I left after 45 mins.
I am probably twice your age.

Cheers
