Hi Huys,

Just wanted to see if there is a place like an Auto Barn for boats to purchase engine service goods. Eg fule filters, sparks etc.

After a place that is cheap and great service.....

Any Help ?:ohhh yeah:

Why not just go to Auto Barn ???

They'll have all your fuel filter needs & plugs just take the number off an existing plug with you

Yep !

The internal fuel filters are 2 off one in- line & the other is a secondary just with a gauze cage to stop crap getting to the injectors the bowl itself acts as a water seperator & if you see that RED washer floating @ all then you'll know the bowl has water in it.

Red washer only floats in water just unscew the bowl & clean out then put back together.

They're just Racors you can get them @ any auto place or truck parts place.

May not have racor stamped on the filter, but all thet are is a paper filter sitting atop of the water seperator thats all.

DC do you use them on your boat. Are they like any install of filters lube then install or do they require any special form of install.....:banned:

Nope !

But similar

I prefer the Cavs only because they have a clear glass bowl instead of the tinted plastic ones used by Racor.

Nothing hard about changing the filter on the Racors very easy.

what is the price difference between cavs and racors ?

Also is it a all new system to be installed with the cavs ?

Dont know what the Racors are worth

Think the Cavs are about $70 each but they do have one prob that will piss you off.

That stupid plastic draining screw on the bottom plate the silly thing crystalise & snap off just when you need to bleed any water out of the bowl.

What I did was drill out the hole then tap in a new thread to accomidate a ball valve which I just flick the tap over if I need to bleed.

Else the original thead is a 5 / 16 " whitworth just replace that stupid nylon one with a stainless bolt make sure you use a tight fitting S/S washer & O ring as well

Hun I got one of those combo's a while ago....Worked ok for a few fish but the drag isn't much chop-not very smooth and tends to not like the saltwater....Be sure to give it a good wash down after using it....Anyone have any handy hints on sorting the drag on em-overheads is something I know very little about and don't really wanto pull it down for fear of having a spring or something go flying out!:1yikes:
