Nope !

GPS's do not rely on one saterlite for there signal & there's well over 50 satelites up in orbit @ present.

Back when GPS's 1st came out there were only 2 satelites up in orbit & you'd have to wait till one was over you b4 you got a signal most signals only lasted a couple of hrs @ best then you'd have to wait for the next satelite.

These days that prob dose not exist.

What may have happened to you is, if a Cloaked Klingon Bird of Prey was in our atmosphere undetected because of the cloaking capabilities thats why cant see them.

They do have the capacity to interfere with our satelite signals :banghead:

Or & another reason you lost signal was!

You didn't plug the bloody aerial in correctly :3d sick rofl:

Oh yeah !

Keep an eye out for those Romulan chappy's as well they've got cloaking capabilities as well but they're much sneakier.

They havr a habit of beaming down to earth & unpluggig peeps aerials when you're not looking buggers got me a few times.

in times past the us govt (who own the gps satellites) have occasionally tuned down the accuracy of their gps system in times of war so the opposition can not use it to guide their missiles, but i havent heard of it happening in aust, and i think they use a new system now anyway..
If it was a hand held gps and you were inside is the only thing i can think of

There was also talk that solar extremes [Greenhouse emmisisions] effected the accuracy of the GPS but I never saw a great deal of evidence to substantiate those claims.

Well open up the side plate & have a look take a pic & post the pic if springs are there which I doubt very much cause when peeps pull things apart & attempt to put them back together & cant work out how to re-assemble they leave parts out thinking they're not needed.

But if the springs are there then you can put them back in their rightfull place.

Tell you wot I have a few TLD's sitting in the I dont use these reels box & one's a TLD 50 when I get the chance maybe even later on today I'll rip off the side plate take a pic of how it should like in there & post it.

apparewntly tuna close to shore first time since early 90sthis

They come in every year & have done so for yonks I know alot of the guys who still Rock Hop Down that way & get a few reports off them.

Last yer was a good yeah in close crappy on the Banks & I didn't bother after the 2nd day cause all the baitfish were in close miles & miles of slimmy's pointless fishing out wider when it's like that.

hey dc pulled the left plate off no spring just the clikker will check ya pic thanks 4 takin the time:ohhh yeah:

Dog Catcher
19-12-07, 05:52 PM
I stand corrected rowdy well just wittle bits :banghead:

Been ages since I'd used a TLD let alone pulled one apart but I did just that this arvo.

There is no side plate I got confucious cause I'd pulled a SIGMA apart the other day.

The TLD 50 is a one piece cage so that means only one side of the reel comes apart & going by your last reply you allready know how to do that.

I was sort off mistaken by the springs as well there are 2 springs operating the clicky thingy's but not the type I was thinking of.

They are screwed into the cage & work off the O Ring bouncing the clicky things back into the locking position.

Now I can see how they could go back in incorrectly & think your prob is that there is no problem with the reel except that you have not applied any pressure to the drag.

You need drag pressure to lock in the anti reverse clicky thingy's & my guess is that you have had the reel in free spool all this time.

Once you have re-assembled reel as per pics tighten the drag & you'll find prob of spool spinning backwards & not locking in has gone away.

rowdey
20-12-07, 02:50 PM
di you get to that by pulling left plate off or handle side

Dog Catcher
20-12-07, 02:58 PM
Yes

No need to pull drag assembly or anthing else apart but I did moreso to give reel a service & to see what else could've caused your prob

rowdey
20-12-07, 03:15 PM

Dog Catcher
21-12-07, 01:24 PM
Just take a pic of reel & post it I dont think ewe know what the bloody thing is :rolling laughter:

So it's all fixed huh ???

And yes to much grease would've surely stopped the Clicker Thingy from engaging itself.

When re-lubing reels never bulk in grease or similar lubes over time they dry out & can interfere with the smaller components doing their jobs.

Like I said earlier in the thread there wasn't much anybody could stuff up putting a TLD back together & knew it was something simple
