View Full Version : Beach Worms
Do they still exist in Sydney?
Anyone care to share location or a pm?
(wishful thiinking)8-)
I have seen them caught up at Narabeen. Not to sure about local Sydney beaches. Darryl may know ...DAZZA....you out there mate?
They certainly do, I don't know about every single beach but the majority hold populations of varying densities. They cop a bit of a hammering over the summer hols but they're year round residents. The Pines at Narrabeen is as good a place as any to start.
Cheers, Darryl
hey daryl is that in front of the pine trees at narrabeen beach? And how do u go about catching em?
i hear they're pretty good baits.Watched an old dvd (gone fishing series) and saw this guy putting on (what seemed a fair amount) of beach worms and he was fishing for jewy's,Can u get jewy's on them?I thought they were good bream baits.

There is a video on beach worming distributed through AFN which should be at your local tackle store, or the should at least be able to get it in for you, I think it retails for around $19.95. Its not a bad one but still not as good as actually being shown.

Thats the spot. Catching beach worms is secret mens business LOL & an art only attained after years of practice under the tutillage of skilled and venerable old fishos - more LOL.
Its something that you have to be shown. Describing how to do it in b&w text is really a waste of time.
A big bunch of worms on a 4/0 baitholder is a great bait on the North Coast. Its never worked for me off a Sydney beach.
hey daryl have u ever fished dee why beach at night? And if so have u got a preferental spot around there?

As much as I hate to link to another site from this site of champions here's a link to a article by Col Buckley on catching Beachworms (http://www.fishnet.com.au/default.aspx?id=234&articleId=2220) some might find helpfull.
Good luck, I am still yet to catch one of these little buggers.
P.S. Narra Bait and Tackle sell bags of live beach worms for about $10.00
Hey thanx for that honky i might give them a go tomorrow night.

No mate, all my efforts have been on beaches further up. Maybe I'm not the best to ask, I've gone 34 trips in tha last few years w/o catching a jew off a Sydney beach. Stood next to plenty who have - arrrghhhh. My turn will come - soon I bloody hope !
yeah it definetly seems that way does'nt it daryl.Tried narrabeen bait/tackle for live blood worms but they did'nt have any but they had tube worms live in a bucket are they any good honky?

G'day Big-E!
Well, yeah those are the ones I tried with a few mates down at Freshy one day, and we also tried em under the spit in the hope of a few nice whiting.
Off Freshy we got jack all, but that was probably because we didn't really know what we were doing. Off the spit, we had some nice bites on those beach worms (tube worms you called em). Anyway, for $10 a bag, they're not bad. NB bait and Tackle has some pretty good fresh baits too, so pick up some of the squid when your there, that has worked well in the past.
So, yeah I reckon they're good, they're from QLD apparently.
Good luck at DY mate hope you hook onto that Jewie you're chasing!!
Man im trying honky im trying everyone here will know when i do,i can just smeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllll it.......yeeeehaaaaaaaa cant wait till tomorrow,

Well usually I fish land based around Seaforth and around the spit & I usually don't catch alot :) Couple of times though we have had some enjoyable nights under the spit fishing the high tide run in and run out with a few beers yep!
I have moved now though up to Mona way and I'm thinking there has to be some better fishing up there. Really keen to get a boat happening so I can start sussing out Pittwater, but it's a fair way off ay! She'll come good though! Hopefully I'll be chasing those Kingies around Pittwater YEAH!
honky i hear theres a great spot up from the spit bridge where the action's alwayz hot,It's my mates secret spot around there and im trying my hardest for him to show me....1 day.
mona sounds like fun mate good gutters there.U fishing this weekend?
