Rushed home from work for a fish with my son last night at Avalon.
It was low tide, but nice and warm with the NW blowing. Got there after dark and cast out with some nice big pillies, with a view to getting amongst some salmon & tailor.
Tom had a cracking run but got bitten off (even with ganged hooks - must have had a big mouth!) after a couple of minutes.
After that we just kept bringing in weed, so called it a day after a couple of hours and went home to watch spicks & specks.
Bring on the weekend with dawn/dusk high tides!
Cheers all,
Neil

PHD is a new member. She is a student biologist, or something similar, and is looking for a bull shark for research!

Hi Bige
Mate Bull Sharks I believe are of the Whaler group of sharks. These nasty mongrels live in the estuaries and can survive in fresh water. Bull sharks (when I was a kid) were spotted hundreds of kilometers inland in the rivers.
These sharks love the dirty water and are thought to be responsible for the shark attacks on the canoes and kayaks in Sydney Harbour and in the cannals at Surfers Paradise.
There is a heap of information on the web if you use a Google search.
All the best.
