:orcawhale: Fished cowan point with plenty of big yakkers and live taylor on a run-in tide and had not been touched in a 6 hour session. What is the secret in this area?

Wellcome aboard SFF
Perseverance, i guess. your not always going to catch jews everytime. Especially when your learning. Untill you know how then you would not be putting up this post. What im trying to say is it takes time to learn fishing and there is always something to learn as the sport constantly redeveloping with technology and formulas. If you search jews in the site you will find heaps of info on them and on the net in general. Sounds like your bait is good. Is it fresh. live. Keep on it. you will get one monster.

the best advice i can give you is...if you wanna catch jews find out where they catch em and fish that area for about 6-8 trips...learn abit about em and go from there.....
there is nothing i oe anyone else can tell you that will make you go tomorrow and get one.....
its about spending hours and hours on the water and learning the river....
it took me 18 months to learn the hawkesbury and im still learning now.....
keep at it see what happens...
good luck...

live tailor slimies yakkas squid are all ment to work. keep it up and im sure that fish wil come.
Learn the rigs, use fresh baits either live or dead, make sure they look as natural as possible when presented to the fish. Fish mainly around the tide changes or when the water flow slows in between tides. Burley helps if there are alot of boats fishing around you. Fish drop offs of eddies. Sinker weight to match current flow.
All the best
