I love my new yozuri squid jig! It's pink and white with glow in the dark eyes and bits of feather stickin out. It's a hard bodied lure and so far has caught me 2 nice size squid! It's fairly sizeable compared to some of the other jigs I've seen.
One thing that bothers me though is I can't exactly add scent to it, as it's hard & not made of mesh and can't really soak it up.
Caught a couple of large squid near Balmoral but when I was out in Pittwater the following day all I got was an Occy! The other chaps did well on smaller jigs.
I'll post a photo of the jig once I get my camera up and running, I reckon she's a beauty!
What do you think about hard verses soft squid jigs?

The best jigs if someone would get off their ass and make them would be replaceable soft plastic jigs, as the squid cant get enough of em, but sadly not yet. Even small spikes with thin wire would be enough.....
Some of the ultrabite stuff, especially the spray scent, sticks to the hardbodies, and ive found 'em pretty effective - especially the full glow bodies. The scent lasts longer than you'd reckon. Actually there is some ultrabite scent concentrate too which is like glue and sticks on as long. It can be bloody messy though. But hard bodies other than glow i cant comment on.
The best cloth jigs are the 1.7gm yo-zuri aurie-q jig in brown during the day or pink at night.
For top dollaryou can get the yo -zuri shrimp hunter; which is just f%@king devastating (but so is the price.....). There are even more expensive japanese tournament jigs but dunno whether they're really worth it.
May your Squid be plentiful
I've used the Halco catch scent on hard squid jigs. Just smear it on as it is a paste. Dunno if it helps though.

The best way to scent the hardbody jigs is to get some of the gulp cut bait, its a gulp plastic in a sheet, just cut a thin strip and attatch it with bait mate (elastic stuff to keep baits) on $2 bucks a roll, awsome stuff for holding any soft baits to a jig or a hook.
Good luck

This is my Jig fellas, definately is better at night I found.
Thanks for the advice on scenting you champions!
Looking forward to my next squid mission.
Have a good one!
(Jiggy Pic attatched.) :)
Honky!
That's a mean jig you got there, nice picture!
I reckon the squid would go hard for that one.
