Well went to Narooma over the long weekend with the mates (four of us) pitched tent at The island veiw holiday park. Weather lovely ,place lovely scenery beautiful but no fish!!!!!. WE fished the board walk- small snapper. Fished the channel near the bridge- small snapper. Hired a dinghy anchored a nd burleyed over the deep areas- small snapper drifted the drop offs- small snapper, everywhere small snapper!!!!! Fished the beach managed to smallish salmon (around 35cm) and acouple of shovelnoses. And I caught the smallest salmon ever 15cm!!! And we werent prepared for the strong current as well. I dont know where we went wrong. The rays were probabaly the highlight of the trip. Huge rays cownose, bull and eagle rays swimming everywhere in the clear water.
Mate bit of a shame as far as the quality of fishing, but I bet you still had aball.
It's always great to get away with mates to one of the better known and wanted to visit places around this beautiful country of ours.
Narooma is more the outside type fishing, and it's closeness to the island is it,s major drawcard.
There is some good fish in the inlet but there is always heaps of wantabees trying to catch them. The lucky few are far and wide.

Yes, i just spent 8 days down there. We love it. Caught a lot of Snapper and Bream over 30cms, but yes, a lot of undersize fish. Not one flathead (baffled)
The Jews were out to play while you were there as well. :headbang:
The swell was non existent by the end of the week. But my wife still wouldn't let me go through the barHott

Spent a day fishing Greenwell & much the same there this time last year it was triple hookups consistantly on the flathead, this time worked the lures about 5 hrs for only 2 fish.
DC ther've all vacated to Bermi. My mate tell me they are getting monsters down there, Yeah heard that before, should have come down when I told you.

Long way to go for Flathead Frank :rolling laughter:
Seriously though & I kid you not we were braining the flathead this time last year down @ GP.
Being a long weekend there was no shortage of boats on the water & think only saw 1 boat pull in a flounder out of all the boats there.
I'm no stranger to GP & know the river quite well but really had a hard time finding the fish & we tried just about all the spots which produce.

Currarong is different to Greenwell Pt Bee's
@ currarong the flathead are outside on the sand & all you need to do is drift for them same goes with the grounds out the front of crookhaven heads.
Inside the river is a different story find a patch & you'll do well.
I've coped a not so good day down there a few times & cant help wondering if the fish move outside or right up the shoalhaven river.
It could also be kkw scaring them away :rolling laughter:
DC I would be blaming that KKW bloke seems to be the trend whenever his about for the fish to go off.
