Just got back from 2 weeks holiday, spent one week down at merimbula.
Took the kids out fishing most days, were reasonably successful. Put the boat into the lake, the kids had a ball, everyone managed to land some fish, nothing huge in fact they were all released, but the huge number of small snapper, flatties, bream and tarwhine, certainly kept the kids busy, not to mention me as I was voted the official hook baiter of the trip. When I did manage the get my line into the water, I did hook up on some small trevally, only managed to land one, as i was fishing very light, and amongst the boat moarings. Took my eldest son up to Tathra wharf, hoping to hook up with a king, but the wharf was packed, & I dont like the idea of hooks & sinker flying past my ears, so we retreated to Merimbula Wharf same story here.:banghead: Finally decided to hit the beach, by this stage it was almost dark, fished for about an hour , had a couple a decent bites but failed to hook up on anything.

All in all a great week of Family fun even though the big ones avoided us.

good stuff mate. Looked like a fantastic trip. Dont mind baiting hooks or getting the fish off the hooks if its for kids, its when my mate asks me to do it when i decide to start throwing people off the boat!!!!

Good on ya mate, my mrs caught her first fish ever at our recent trip away....was only a catfish about the size of our ****zu but she was pretty please with herself......Nothing better than bringing a few in with the family.
