View Full Version : green weed in sydney
Hey boys,
Anyone know where i can get decent greenweed on the north side of Sydney. Tried Parramatta but its scarce. Took some Crosslands weed up to Tea Gardens over easter and the blackies wouldnt touch it. Funny because last season they couldnt get on the hook quick enough. Does anyone know if theres any at Wallsend at the moment.
Thanks Mack.

I cant tell you where to get your weed, though i was very surprised to hear that the Darkies wouldnt touch crosslands weed. Make sure your not taking it from too far up the creek where the water is fresh and smelly and if the weed is smelly wash it. Weed from crosslands creek is the gun bait around Berowra. The one thing my grandfather did teach me though is always try and source your bait close to where you intend to use it!!!

Sorry havent posted in a while just been busy. I was going to ask the same question but then i thought of a swamp like lake. Got some weed fromt here but it was really messy with sh*t all round it. Im talking about the swamp near Scarbourogh parkits somewhere in monterey. Going down there today with my dad hope fully the'll be some down there and then i can start fishing for Blackies again..
cheers

Hi all
Tried the weed that i got, was probably the best one you could find but not a single bite. I was fishing the cook's and wid no luck turned back to prawns and caught a few small bream and whiting. Is there any way not to catch these trimpies from shore bcuz i dont have a bout caz im to young and neither ddoes my dad so i have to fish landbased..
Cheers
Went to crosslands and got two types of weed, one in the brackish water was darker and more coarse, the lighter weed in the tidal area was fine like cotton. Neither made any difference, caught two blackfish both undersize. The water was really clear at Tea Gardens, and warm enough to swim so ill have to wait a couple of months for it to cool down and bring the bronzies in from outside.
