Got sent these pics from a mate. This guy was out fishing off California, a couple of miles out when he sees this weird thing in the water. He goes over to investigate it, and finds when he gets there its a deer, swimming prob for ages and completely fooked. The pics tell the rest of the story. apparently it was pretty happy to take the helping hand when offered......
Now hows that for a fishing story..!!

And yes it was released back at shore.....

now a real happy ending would have been a photo of the deer roasting on a spit (it had already been marinated)

Good one Stef...Maurice you're a classic-but I agree would be a dissapointment to let it go its gotta be on the spit! Quinnie I didn't realise Poly made UB's.

Venison on the spit:eeek: you heathens. You dont cook venison like that, Im thinking of those tender saddle straps cooked in rosmerry and garlic served with caramelised onions and chat potatoes and my mouth is watering.

I've seen quite a few deer whilst fishing wheeny crk and Colo area is full of the mongrels.

Great pics stef, that poor beast must of been in the water for ages.
