Sounds good mate.

I heard that Ross has done some mods to his elegant. Now longer and sporting ( or soon to be ) a 140 i think.

I have to speak to Ben cause I wouldn't mind doin the Newcastle round, but if he can't I might do it as a non boater so I might need a ride with a local. Keep that in mind.

can any one tell me where the best place is to stay when fishing the round 3

I'm not familiar with where the comp is held. Knowing where it is held will help narrow down appropriate accomodation. I take it you will need a boat space as well?

Mate give Chris Craig a call, the organiser of Pro Bream. I'm assuming it will be run out of Bayview in hen and Chicken bay, but your probably best trying to stay about 10 mins from a ramp if you can. Not familar with accomodation down there sorry.

If it's at Bayview, there is a Formula 1 motel at Wentworthville. Wouldn't take more than 10-15 straight down the M4.

i heard a rumor that the start point is hen and chicken bay but i have also been told that it costs you to leave your car / trailer at that boat ramp. i went for a pre-fish last weekend and put in at kissing point which is only like about 5 min drive in a boat to the start point so i will be putting in there once again the morning of the comp.

fishing was good also, had a bag of 3 fish for around the 2 kg mark and got scanked by a couple of nice fish which if i land in the comp would be great. if i can get 4kg overall it will hopefully keep me in the top 10 for the comp and should keep me up there in the leader board.

USA here i come

yes, the start will be at Bayview Park, Burwood Rd, Concord - which is on the shore of Hen & Chicken Bay, on the eastern side of Caberita Pt. And yes, parking there is expensive - about $20/day for a car & trailer, I think. apparently, the council will do a deal where by we can include the carpark fees in the tournament fees at a cheaper rate, but for this year it will be pay as you park, and it is dear at Bayview. you are welcome to arrive by boat, of course.
cheers,
chris

May be worth paying the money for parking Kriss. Wharf Rd. can be a bit dodgey in the dark hours. A lot of undesirables around.

Silverwater is probably the BEST ramp in Sydney as far as security goes! It is regularly patrolled by Police due to its close proximity to the Jail. It is seen as a staging area for any undisrables, and is therefore under constant scrutiny.

Added to that, is that truck drivers use it as a de-facto rest spot, so there is always movemnet there of some kind which detracts low lives.

If using that ramp, be very wary of the wash from the rivercat as it is a very narrow section of the river and it can get gnarly. Also very slippery.

so by the sounds of this the fish are still on the bite. I went dont he weekend before last and got a good bag but wasnt able to get down there this weekend to see if they were still around.

It looks like some people could get some good fish on the weekend anyway, i just hope i am one of them.

Good luck anyway for the weekend but not to much luck leave the big ones for me.

so they have changed the session lengths again................. 1 st round on the sunday it was to 12pm and second round it was 2pm and now it looks like its 12pm again. It is just to short a session on the second day thats why he changed it. is there a reason why they are going back to the old format????

Apparently because people have to travel further. makes no sence to me considering I had to travel to lake Mac, what the differance is, I dont know.
This is a good place to share your feelings on these subjects, BUT
Keep it polite DO NOT critersise just voice your opinion on session times or other things & i'm sure Chris will take a look at it, remembering that alot of your suggestions may have been voiced before & looked at already as the NSWPTF has been going for few years now and any major changes can not be made untill the new season begins.

mithendore
26-05-06, 09:47 AM
sorry greg....
i wasnt trying to upset anyone by my comments, i was just tryingto find out why they have changed it all once again. The format changed completly at the begining of this season to what it was last year.

and as you pointed out this is a NSW comp and people would travel from all over to go in these comps, why should you miss out on your local round.

that is all. Once again sorry for any upseting comments and feel free to delete anything you feel is offending.

see you on the water

Jason,
I totally agree, the keep it polite & do not critersise was not for you at all mate but for anybody who may do so. Your post is a legitimate question that should be asked.
