Got back this arvo fellas from a great 5 days up the coast. As i wrote earlier i went to test out my new hobie kayak.
We camped at Treachery. I didnt do much fishing. We had a big group of us around the camp fire downing the beers and one of the boys pumped out some great tunes on the guitar.
Awesome weather, the bluest, cleanest water ive seen for a long time.
The first time i took the kayak out at Boat Beach and headed out around the rocks. I was peddling around trawling a plastic when i saw 2 fins about 20 m away and sh*t myself. As they got closer i noticed they were dolphins and relaxed abit until they started coming and playing around with the kayak, bumpinginto it and having fun. Well i wasnt having fun, i was worried of getting tipped over.
After they left me alone i saw a Hammerhead and then i really sh*t myself and peddled back so quickly the kayak actually planed out of the water.
The next day i went out of Treachery beach and about 1 km out saw a huge school of mullet coming my way. As they past under me i saw some big, big species of something under them having a go. I just kept peddling out towards the 2 little islands out there which are about 3 km out. Beautiful water and weather and a great way to see the ocean. Its a whole different perspective on the kayak.
I didnt take any photos but i wished i had. To be honest im a lazy bugger when it comes to cameras. I leave it to the missus.
Didnt come home with fish, didnt really try, thats the problem when you go away with a big group of people and im the only fisherman. But i did come home with damaged liver and very sunburnt.
Going for Bonito and Squid in the morning though.

sounds good anyway, its a awesome part of the world up there hey. Must be a different perspective on a kayak. like a treat for a shark on a biscut. lol

Totally different perspective, especially when the waters so clean. You can see everything below you.
Apparantly there's alot of sharks around there at Easter time.
My mate told me i should of put a few 12/0 hooks through my waistband. Bloody good mate ah!!!
