Hey BigE, I'd say that any day this weekend would be good.
I can't get out on the weekend, but I'm planning Monday night, maybe Mona Vale basin, maybe Narra or Curly. Depends on surf & gutters, I'll check it out this weekend.
Good Luck tonight, look forward to a report.
Cheers,
Neil

G'day neilm fished dee why beach friday night from around 7pm till about 10.30 good high-tide almost full moon......got 2 hits = 2 rays and nothing.
It was crap the worst night but i say taylor/mullet jumping about 30metres from us.
I was using pilchards/whole squid..........nothing.
Let us know how u go?
Hey BigE,
That's bad luck. I got out yesterday morning before dawn at North Narra and found a gutter, right on dawn I got a small flattie (about 30cm) on a whole pillie, I was really targetting salmon & tailor on my light beach outfit (8lb). As it got lighter and the tide was still coming in I switched to a pille tail on a 1/0 long shank, to try and tempt a fat bream. Got a hit at 8am, gave me a bit of curry for about 10mins on the light gear, then seemed to slow down. By this time whatever it was had taken about 100m line, and so I cranked up the drag a bit and started to pull it in, started getting it back into the surf zone and then it simply put the afterburners on and smoked me big time. I couldn't undo the drag in time and the 8lb mono simply cracked. That's it, I'm switching to braid!
Don't think it was a salmon as it didn't jump, but who knows.
I'll be back.
Cheers,
Neil
That'll teach u for fishing with 8lb line, better luck next time neilm
